My Birthday Party-- On Children's Day.... ;)

As I told you in my last post, Appa & Amma made arrangement for my Birthday party on Kwality Walls - Swirls....

Cake has been ordered in Lokesh Mama's Bakery.... Pineapple Fresh Cake with Bear Icing. It looks really wonderful...

The other items were ordered there... French Fries, Veg Nuggets, Sandwiches, Chilly Cheese Pizza, Veg Arrabiata Pasta & to finish with Ice Creams.

Really enjoyed every single minute of this evening... We reached the Swirls by 6 pm exact. Slowly one by one, my friends came. All the six girls were there except Varsha. Amma called Malini Aunty. She told that there is no one to take Varsha to the Party. Its understood, she has to come all the way from Villianur. Its difficult definitely... Sanjana's Sister Tamanna & Mrittika's Sister Sruthika accompanied them.

I cut the cake by 6.45 pm, after waiting for Varsha & later we all ate the cake... delicious...

Sruthi suddenly got into a jolly mood & started chasing every one of us to mess our faces & dresses with the cream.... we all ran here & there... Then amma made her sit in a place. Then the dishes lined up & we liked everything... that too the pasta is really very nice... a bit spicy too....

We enjoyed playing treasure hunt & speaking to few people who came to the parlour. Ice creams were served to their choice & so as the toppings.... we chatted & chatted on gulping down the ice creams... slowly parents came to pick them up... I gave a bag as a return gift to them. I bought this bag only for my friends. But Tamanna took the one that is bought for Varsha.... But Sruthi didn't have any... amma felt bad about that, as she kept on telling to buy few more in anticipation... it is only appa said a strict no to it.... so we bought the bag for only 7 girls.

We came home by 8.30 pm after giving the cakes to the Parlour owner & staff. Its a wonderful day to be in my memory forever.

Back home, I opened all the presents.... Vigasini gave me a Chess Board, Sanju a Mahabharata Book & a Pilot pen with eraser at the other tip, Mrittika, The Princess diaries Book, Arwa gave me two Enid Blytons Famous Five books & a pair of 3D Rubber bands & a pair of hair clips, Fatema gave me a clock & Devanshika gave me the cartoon cup.

A Real Children's Day today... Thank you so much appa & amma. ... Love you both...

On My Birthday....

       Really enjoyed this day...

Went to school this morning and gave sweets to our Principal Jareena Mam & also gave her some books for our school Library. This is the usual routine from my 4th birthday, that, on my every birthday I used to donate some new books to the library.

Later amma accompanied me to the classroom & she left. After our class teacher Vinpreet Mam came, I distributed sweets to all the teachers & to my classmates. It was a fun day.

All my teachers wished me & few of my teachers told me that I look so cute & lovely in my birthday dress. Actually I have planned to get a Ball Gown kind of dress for my birthday, after finalising my character for the English Exhibition, to be held on 19th Nov 2011. But till yesterday evening the character has not yet been finalised, I thought I would get the dress later & bought this three fourths & kurti for today's eve. This dress looks very decent & elegant too. I love this...

Later I gave the party invitations to all the girls who were present today. Arwa, Devanshika & Vigasini were absent. I planned to give them on Monday. I wonder how could they attend the party on Monday, 14th Nov 2011, Evening. I wish all of them to attend my birthday party.

I searched for Leslie Mam to give sweets. But could not find her. Might be she was on leave...

I had abacus class in the evening. I went inside, both Swathi Mam & Anandhi Mam came out of the classroom to wish me for securing SILVER in the National Competition. Also they wished me for my birthday. Appa said he would come and pick me up in one hour, as the class today is for two hours. Mam agreed to that and I came home in one hour.

After reaching home, Chitta thatha & Preethi Athai came home to wish me. Chitta thatha is my Dad's Paternal Uncle. Preethi athai gave me a dress for my birthday. Its again purple coloured three fourths... But the pattern is quite different. Nice one. They had their dinner with us.

By 9 pm, we went to the Ashram. Prayed very well. spent some time there & before coming home, went to the beach, after so many days & sat there for a while. Nice wonderful breeze. Quite refreshing...

       Enjoyed this day very well.

My Birthday Bash...

Oh... Its more than a  month.... Totally immersed in my Abacus National Level Competition on Nov 6th & my other to-be held competitions, the coming week.... and have had a little time to get back to share few on my birthday...

Yeah... Today, the 12th Nov 2011, I am 10 years. I had so many plans.... But my health is not favouring me... Day before yesterday (10th Nov) early morning, I had severe vomiting & slowly the temperature increased. Might be due to indigestion....

It happens every time, when I plan my birthday.... I have never ever celebrated my Birthday with my friends... This time I have planned to call all the seven girls of my class... we girls are only 8 in number, including me. Again this time its an utter failure...

Normally, we, in our house, celebrate all our functions with only either three of us or just with the addition of my grand parents (Mom's Parents & Dad's Parents), sometimes with my 2 uncles & aunts. Not a single person from outside would be the invitee.... functions strictly restricted to our own family.

I tried to break this several times by calling my friends... but every time some or other things happen naturally and my attempts would fail.

But This is my 10th Birthday.... I asked Dad about the celebrations.... Much to my surprise, he immediately agreed to that, as this time, even though its my 10th birthday, both my Grand Parents could not come over here, as they are engaged in some important works.

We planned my Birthday in Kwality Walls- Swirl's. Ordered cake outside & planned the menu. Made arrangements for a party a day before, thats on Friday, 11th Nov 2011.  Now that everything has been postponed to 14 Nov 2011, on Childrens Day... AN APT DAY FOR PARTYING.... Right??!!!

ANYWAYS, NOW I AM PERFECTLY ALRIGHT. I have got a new dress, a blue three-fourths & a red short kurti for my birthday. It looks really great on me. Love it....

Mom & Dad gave me The Bailey School kids Series for my Birthday. My Grand Dad & Aunt gave me presents, during my visit to Chennai, earlier this month. Thanks all...

       Will be back soon.

Its Fun Time...

Yep... It's fun time.

We had a real fun this evening in Fatema's House.

I joined Mrittika to Fatema's Birthday Party. Mrittika's Grandmother dropped us at Fatema's House in her car. Amma bought one  book, Over 500 Incredible Facts from Focus Book Shop as a gift for Fatema and also she bought another book for me, Over 500 Fabulous Facts.

In Fatema's House, apart from we girls, only Raghav and Harsh from our class were invited for the party. Her brother Hussain's friends, Relish and few other boys came from our seniors. We played different types of balloon bursting games, one with a chit in a blown balloon and every one has to burst their balloons with a pin and has to search Fatema's name in our chit, the other balloon game is to hold our partner (mine is Vigasini) back to back with our hands entangled and a balloon was placed in the area below the shoulder. We have to press the balloon and have to burst the balloon with all our strength. Another one Kashmir to Pondicherry Game, that was quite interesting and enjoyable.

After our games session, the cake cutting session started exactly by 7 p.m. So many yummy delights were served. Apart from cake, mouth watering samosas, kachodis,  piping hot Maggi noodles, Pastas and desserts were being served. We all had our stomachful.

Fatema gave us return gifts. A Winnie the pooh, diary kind of note books for girls and Ben Ten watches for boys.

Shweta Aunty picked Mrittika and I, from Fatema's House along with Devanshika and dropped us home. Amma came down to thank Shweta Aunty.

While we climb our stairs, Amma told that she was very much worried as it was getting late. Ofcourse, it was late, by around 8.45 p.m., but not too late.

I told her all about that party and  she asked me write down all these party fun to blog.

Fatema's Birthday....

Today is my friend Fatema's Birthday.

She has invited all of our friends for the birthday party this evening at her house. I want to go to the party. But, I am not sure, as Appa is not in station. I have to ask Mrittika. If she goes, let me also join with her. Let me hope for the best.

Planning to gift a book. Yet to buy. Told amma about that. She said she would buy one after sending me to school.

Yeah... Getting late for my school. Have to catch the bus... Bye... See you all soon....

School Instructions....

During my social period, this morning, Vidyalakshmi Mam announced through our inter class mike, on behalf of our Principal Mam, that we should not wear tights to school on colour dress days and small tops (with jeans) or so. We could wear jeans with somewhat bigger tops. Also gave instructions, that one should not give gifts on their birthday to other children and also should not cut cake in the school. If the children, inspite of their warning, bring cakes and gifts, it would be sent back home.

I know that the instructions with regards to the dresses, might be started because of our seniors and super seniors.   I have seen many wearing thin tights with very short hip level tops. Normally, the tights would show off our structure very well. That too with very short tops means, it might have looked awful. That is why Mam has given such a strong instructions. Many could not understand why Mam is telling. But we should lend our ears to listen to what they are saying.

I am very much confused with regards to the instructions on cake. I never cut the cake in school for my Birthday. But this time, amma & appa told me to celebrate my birthday in school, as I asked them to call my friends for a party that evening, as it was my 10th Birthday.

Looking into several issues behind that, Both agreed to give a big cake to the school and asked me to celebrate my birthday with all my friends there at the school. Initially I didn't agree to that and later I gave up and agreed to that. All this happened yesterday and today in the assembly Mam is announcing this instruction. I don't know how am I going to celebrate my 10th Birthday.

Amma told that we have lots of time to think about that and its a mere waste of time to discuss this now. Also she asked me to prepare for my Abacus exam.

She is right in a way... my ultimate aim is to achieve in abacus. See you soon.

Abacus Model Exam....

Today I had my Abacus 3rd Level Model Exam.

Yeah.... I did well. I know I would get a decent score, if not a centum. On my way back, Mom told me that my teacher has showed my score card to her and I have made few mistakes in my Abacus Multiplication. I felt really bad on hearing this. I thought I would secure nice marks. Its high time I realize I have to put more efforts to get centum in this level also, as my earlier two levels.

Back home I practiced few sums. I have to work more time to achieve my target, as my main exam is on Friday, the coming week.

Now I blog this to relax myself from these tiring works.

Happy Wedding Anniversary My Dear Parents...

Today is my Parents 14th Wedding Anniversary.

I woke up early this morning by around 5.45 a.m. Immediately I wished both of them.

I got ready to school early today, as we have planned to have our breakfast at A2B. But mom told me that we go out for dinner and prepared breakfast at home, Chappati with sprouts gravy. Hmmm... It was delicious. Both dad and mom gave me Young Scientist Magazine of this year, 5 books from level two and another 5 books from level three, as a gift for their wedding anniversary. I was very much excited and thanked them.

For Lunch she gave me Veg Pulav. As usual, it was awesome.

Back in the evening she gave me a delicious ragi drink.... nothing could beat its taste and nutritional value. Simply superb.

We went out for dinner. Going out for dinner on important days has been like a ritual these days. Of course enjoy those moments, not because of delicious food, but of being together in a very lighter and elited festive moods. We love to kid each other, talking for hours eating slowly. Wonderful moments to be relished.

On the Whole, we enjoyed this day. I love you both, dear parents.

Evaluation started....

Too busy these days as the evaluation for us has been started this week.

I have to prepare a scrap book for our Social class. Social Teacher Mr. Mohandas sir gave this as our project work. But he didn't give any theme. We have to select our own theme. I have planned the effects of deforestation as the theme for the first page, after discussing with Appa.

For the second page, yet to decide the theme. I thought as I am doing this for Social Science, the theme should also be related to the same social science. I am in search of the relevant theme.

I have too many works in Abacus. Daily practice help me score more.

I have to put in more effort to accomplish myself.

Elango Thatha came yesterday evening and is staying with us now. He has a lecture at the Pondicherry University tomorrow and presiding the Teachers' Day Celebrations at a college here day after tomorrow.

He tells me stories every day with different themes every time. Really Wonderful. I could recall most of his stories.

Yeah... I don't think I could Blog for another one week as I am having evaluation. Anyways let me try my best to post.

       Have a Great day.

Its Teachers' Day...

Today is Teachers' Day.

This Morning, I was late to the school bus and got into the bus when it was about to start from the next stop. In this process, I totally forgot about the Teachers' Day card to be given to Gayathri Miss, immediately on boarding the bus.

In my School, during my interval time and in my lunch time, I gave the Teachers' Day card to Principal Jareena Mam, to Academic Director Leslie Mam and to most of my Teachers. I searched for Anuradha Miss(maths), Flavia Miss, Gayathri Miss althrough the day. But I could not find them. I thought of giving them tomorrow with belated wishes.

Today we don't have any big celebrations at our school. Mam told us that we had enough of our celebrations as Talent Time, during the month of July and August. As lot of pending lessons to be completed, the teachers could not spare their time elaborately in this celebrations, it seems. Therefore, along with Childrens' day, Teachers' day celebrations will be there.

We are planning a play for Children's Day Celebrations. A play of a kind of Treasure Hunt... Searching the secret guardians.

I play as an Australian. I have planned to wear Ice Blue Jeans with a T. Black and white checked overcoat to cover it till my knee, with semi loose hair. Mom told me that a sun glass or a hat would match with that. But I am not keen in that.

Many of my friends are planning to wear Mini skirts and Tights. But for me, I think its apt to wear a jeans. It might look decent and could go well with anybody from any part of the world. I could not tell all these, as my friends would not listen to me. They do what they think. So I simply never utter any words with regards to the dress.

Ganesh Chaturthi...

Its time to know about Ganesh Chaturthi....

I have come across a very old Graceful Picture of Lord Ganesha. Let me share it with you....

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important festivals of India.

As the name indicates, Ganesh Chaturthi is the Birthday of Lord Ganesha.  It comes in the month of August - September ( Tamil Name is Aavani Maadham), on Chaturthi.

Lord Ganesha is the God of Power and Wisdom.

On the day of the festival, we buy the Clay model of Lord Ganesha from the skilled artisans. Normally the clay models will be of different sizes, from 3/4 ft. to 30 ft.

We place the idol in a raised platform and decorate the Lord with Chandan, Holy Ash & Kumkum. Then we put Crown Flower (Erukkam Poo ) and Bermuda Grass ( Arukam Pul)  Garland & offer variety of fruits, corn (Solam), finger millet (Ragi), Pearl Millet (Kambu) along with the home made delicacies, such as Kozhukkattai ( sweet dumplings), Kheer, Vada.

We normally offer prayers very early by 8 or 8.30 a.m. After our breakfast, we go to Ashram. We stay there for an hour or so. Later we sit outside the Ashram and observe people. By this way one could learn how to behave and how not to.

The whole day we all will be in a festival mood. We stroll in the beach for hours in the evenings, speak about  A to Z in the world. Most of the time I speak a lot and both Amma and Appa listen to me.

This Year I have learnt about the importance of Lord Ganesha. Let me share with you too...    with a picture of the Lord....

Hope this might be useful to some of you.

To add our festive mood, Elango Thatha came to our house this afternoon by around 1.30 p.m. We all had our lunch with him. Spoke to him for a long time. I showed him my science project thesis, Extant and Extinct Marine Reptiles - A Study.  He was vey much impressed by the way it has been presented. Also I showed various assignment works.... He asked me so many questions with regards to the projects I have shown and I answered almost all the questions. He was pretty much impressed and appreciated me. While leaving to Chidambaram, he promised me to comeback to Pondy in three days time.

I have learnt cycling this evening for an hour. Appa was totally exhausted in this process. At the end of the day we are all, inspite of our festive mood, damn tired.

Good night all.

Teachers' Day Preparations

I have been quite busy for the past one week - not writing anything in my Epistle. But I am back...
Today is half working day for me. After coming back from the school, I was preparing an article for Teachers' Day celebrations in our Brain O Brain Abacus Class.

I have been preparing two things for the past two days for Teachers' Day. One is an article about the Teachers' Day and another one is a Rare Photo collage of Dr.S.Radhakrishnan.

With regards to the article about the Teachers' Day, I have given an intro about the Teachers' day, then discussed about the World Teachers Day and atlast I have given details about Teachers' Day in India.

As of the rare photo collage of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, I have done in Picasa. Appa went to the studio to put a photo print of 10X8 size. It came out nicely. It has to be glued along with a Teachers' Day card, in which my three Abacus Teachers Pictures have been collaged, in a hand made Chart Paper. Preliminary works are completed with regards to the printouts & photo copies. Yet to complete it by pasting it and colouring the handmade charts to my ideas.
Rare Photo Collage of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan
My Three Abacus Teachers... From Top Left- Ramya Mam & Swathi Mam and Bottom Middle is Anandhi Mam

The third thing I have planned is a Quiz regarding the Teachers' Day, both the World and India's Teachers' Day. Compiled a few questions. Yet to complete it.

By 5 p.m. I went to the Brain O Brain Abacus class. There I did a science experiment, as it is one of my homework activities given  last week along with the preparation of the Teachers' Day activity.

Then I showed my teachers all that I have prepared for the TD. Every one appreciated and inspite of me telling that it has not yet been completed, one of my teachers told that it is enough and said that she would pin it up in the notice board. Also asked me to send the Greeting Card collage with all the three teachers to her mail Id , as one of my classmates needed it to fix it in his photo frame, as it has nothing pasted earlier. Hmmm.... Ok... Any ways I am going to send it to her mail ID.

Yeah...  its getting late. Damn tired after a hectic day. Good night all.
Back to you tomorrow with our Talent Time Photos.

A letter from Thatha... (Maternal GrandFather)

Today  I have received a letter and a gift, from Elango Thatha, my maternal grand father, through courier,  for my winning the competitions. Appa received it and kept it unopened in Sri Mother's Shelf.

I was relaxing after coming back from the school and having my evening health drink. I received a call from thatha. Only after I spoke to him, amma gave the letter from Thatha.

I opened it and saw a letter inside. When I read that It congratulates me for my success and asked me about the distribution of cake to my friends and to my dear teachers. He asked me to send the photographs of the competitions and the prize distribution. Also asked me to write letters instead telling everything over phone. From my 3rd standard he insists me writing letters, as it would develop my vocabulary and my flow of language. He even insists me writing the letters both in English and Tamil. Its only few times I have tried writing letters. somehow during my 3rd std, I find it difficult to write letters... used to get bored while explaining things in detail... also would get spelling mistakes while writing. Thats why I always hesitate writing letters.

This time during my visit to Chennai, Thatha introduced me to Lord Chesterfield's Letter to his Son and asked me to read that book. I kept on browsing the book from first page to the last page and read few sentences. Then I just flipped the pages. On seeing me do this, Thatha asked me whether I have read that page he has given. I said I am not in a mood as I want to play with Sathvi. He understood me and immediately asked me to go. I thought I would one day read this Book.

Thatha, after sometime read me few pages from  Lord Chesterfield's Letter to his Son. Its all about good manners and how to conduct ourselves in a crowd and so on... Its not just an advice. Something more than that. I told to myself that I would read this book soon.

Thanks Elango Thatha for all that you do for me.....

Sathvi Sweety....

Our dear little Sathvi kutty is so sweet.... spent two days with her....

We went to Chiththi's house by around 11 a.m. By that time she was sleeping. After sometime she cried.... Chiththi nursed her. Many relatives came to see her. I met few of our relatives for the first time. But spent a nice time with them.

By late evening, my great grand father ( Amma's Grand father) came along with his family to visit Chiththi & the New Born. He is my mom's maternal grandfather. They started home by around 9.30 p.m. That night, Sathvi never slept... cried for a long time. Really a hectic day for all at home. So many visitors in a  single day.... more than 8 families.... OMG....

Sathvi might be disturbed by these visitors... that's why she is crying too hard and not sleeping at all.

The next morning ( 15th August) we woke up early and got ready for prayers, as that day is Sri Aurobindo's Birthday, a Darshan Day at the Ashram. We prayed for 15 Mins.

By morning 8.30 a.m., Paatti ( GrandMother) took Sathvi to open terrace for sun bath. I asked why she was taken to sun bath in such an young age.... I was told that, Sun bath increases the Vitamin D in the body, which is a much essential vitamin. I have read this in my 1st std science book. But never thought that it has to be done in a new born. Yeah... now that I have learnt this.

During this sun bath time, Sathvi was so quiet. Never ever cried a bit. Oh... she is not a cry baby.... She enjoyed sun bath very much... smiled... watched all our faces.... coo softly.... lovely lovely sweety.... might be she loves to be in warm sun light....

Then she was given a good bath.  We gave our gifts for Sathvi, to Chiththi & Chittappa. We have bought her Sri Mother Symbol Dollar & three dresses of different colours. I loved the red one.  She slept without even being nursed. Let her sleep.... as in the night, she has never slept.

We started from chiththi's house by around 1 p.m. to catch bus to Pondy. Bus experience is totally different for me and I enjoyed my trip to Chennai this time.

Cake Treat

Yesterday I gave cake treat to all my friends and teachers. We have ordered two cakes, one for my dear teachers and the other one for my friends.

We have ordered a Black Forest Cake for my Teachers with the wordings
" MY HEART WELLS UP WITH THANKS, MY DEAR TEACHERS "....

and a Pineapple Cake for my Friends with the wordings " THANK YOU PALS FOR YOUR WISHES "....

Both Amma& Appa gave the cake to Vinpreet miss during the Maths class, so as to cut it & distribute it during the break time in afternoon 3 p.m. to 3.05 p.m.

By 3 p.m.,  I cut the cake in presence of  our class teacher Vinpreet miss, the other batch's maths teacher Vel sir, the following tamil class teacher Priya Miss. All of my friends were given the cake. Only few of my friends didn't eat the cake. On the whole, we all enjoyed this breaktime with tasty pineapple cake.

A Glorious Day....

        Today is a Great Day....

I went to school this morning with lot of excitement and anxiety.... as the results will be announced today afternoon....

Morning session, the Independence Day celebrations were there. Marchpast, followed by Flag Hoist by Our Principal, Mrs.Jareena Mam. Then, many of our friends and seniors gave speeches on Independence Day in English, Hindi and Tamil. It is followed by the Prize Distribution for the Talent Time Competitions held last week for the KGs and till 2nd Std. The Little Champion of Primrose (for KG Sections) is Srinidhi of L.K.G. She is very cute....  After the distribution of prizes, we went to our class.

After Lunch, we went to the assembly hall for the prize distribution of Our Talent Time.... At first, Flavia Miss announced the prizes for 3rd standard and then 4th std.  I have become restless & atlast Flavia Miss announced the prizes for 5th. I sighed with a big relief. I was surprised to hear my name as first prize in English Speech. I went to the prize distribution area and got 1st Prize Certificate and a Writing pad as prize.

Then I grew nervous as she read the prizes for Solo Dance. Then came the English Recitation, I shared the first prize with Fatema. Now I got the Prize Certificate and a Pen Holder as prize.

Again my anxiety grew ..... as the prizes for the States & Capitals & other competitions were announced. Then the time came for the announcement of Fancy Dress... I thought, for this, one of my classmates Siddarth might get the prize.... then I told to myself, why I think negatively.... for fancy dress also, I would definitely get the first prize.... Yeah.... There, Miss has called out my name as first prize in Fancy Dress.... I again got the first prize certificate and a photo album as prize.

WOW.... What a great moment.... I immediately thanked Sri Mother for all the prizes.

After sometime, Sunita Miss called out my name as the Champion of Primrose Primary Section....
I could not believe my ears.... what a glorious moment....  have no words to express my feelings at that time....

I went to the dais.... The Chief Guest tied me the Champion of Primrose Primary Section Tag and kept a crown over my head. I thanked the Chief Guest. My joy knew no bounds.... All my teachers and friends congratulated me.... Raghav & Others asked me a treat. Our Class Teacher Vinpreet Miss, Suni Miss, Vidyalakshmi Miss, Christina Miss, Meena Miss & few other teachers asked me treat. I planned a cake treat on wednesday, as we have a continuous holiday for four days till 16th August 2011, Tuesday.

I asked Mom & Dad to pick me up from the school.... I came out to tell the events after the school, as they were waiting for me in the waiting area..... I just opened the Champion Tag and showed them. Both of them were astonished a moment and then congratulated me.... While Mom asked me about the events,  Sunita Miss and Vidhyalakshmi Miss came to mom and congratulated her. Then Mom spoke to Suni Miss about the events. Then I said thank you to Suni Miss and started home.

We straight headed to the Ashram and offered thanks prayer. Then came home.

When I entered the house, Appa & Amma gave me three Tinkle Special Editions, which I longed for....

I thanked Amma & Appa for being so lovely.

A NEW ARRIVAL..... PUTHIYA SIRUSHTI....

I came back yesterday evening from a short vacation to Chennai, to my Aunt Nitya's Place, for four days from August 6 to August 9, 2011.

My Aunt Nitya Balaji gave birth to a Cute Little Girl Baby on August 8, 2011, evening. Cutie pie.... Sweet darling.... Smile beautifully & Coo softly.... She is so pink.... Her foot & palm are red & soft..... she is as red as an apple.... lovely little....

We all went to the hospital by 7.30 p.m., on 8th August, 2011, after the birth of our dear darling. My aunt was resting on the bed. I searched for the baby.... I was told that the baby was there in the baby room & it would come only the next day to the room.... Oh... I was much dissappointed..... I waited & waited the whole day to see the baby & now that they are telling that I could only see her tomorrow.....

After an hour or so, my chittappa Balaji (uncle) came and told us that the baby would come to room by 9.30 p.m. I was overjoyed on hearing this. I asked My Aunt & Uncle the name of our little darling. They said it is only to be told on the 3rd day after giving the name to the hospital records. But they have given me a clue that the name starts with S. I started thinking of all the names, related to Sri Mother..., as we are all the ardent devotees of Sri Mother & Sri Aurobindo. Later I concluded that it would be SHRI MIRA.... Yet to get confirmed by Chittappa & Chiththi.

Elango Thatha told us that our Guru Karmayogi, has told him that 8th August is the greatest day in the life of India when Gandhiji & Nehru were arrested in 1942.

By 9.45 p.m. cutie pie came to the room... The nurse showed her to all of us.... such a lovely little angel.... slowly she opened her eyes & saw who ever comes in front of her face... later she closed her eyes slowly... The nurse said that the Angel has come to the room to get her nursed. So we all came home from the hospital. I could not sleep that night as I was very much excited about my new born baby sister.

Again in the morning we all went to the hospital. Spent one hour with my sister. Slightly touched her foot & palm.... Wow... so.... soft.... Due to the strict hospital rules we waited and waited in the reception area till 12 O'Cock in the afternoon. In the meantime we went to Nilgris to get Dairy Milk box as a gift to the new born. Again went to the room in the 5th floor, gave the sweets to Chiththi and saw the baby sleeping in the cradle. Stood few minutes near the cradle to observe her sleeping, then waived hands to Chiththi and Chiththappa and we started to Pondicherry straight from the hospital.

Lovely Little Angel.... Miss you so much.... ;-)

The Last Day of Our Talent Time

Today is the last day of our Talent Time.... From tomorrow High School & Higher Secondary School's Talent Time Starts.... Vacation for all of our Primary sections for the next 3 days... till 7th of August... Planning a short trip to Chennai... But not yet confirmed...

This morning, we had Speech Competition in the Assembly Hall.... The Judges were Rhea Akka's Mom & another one, I don't know.  I spoke really well... except one.... I made a small mistake... later changed it ...  & spoke well.  We have to wait another 9 days for the results... It would be announced only on the Prize distribution day it seems.... The Prize Distribution has been planned on 12th August....

Afternoon session, Solo Dance & Hand Writing Competitions were held... Solo Dance for Classes I to  V, conducted in the assembly hall again.... Amma is one of the  3 Judges.... I could not believe my eyes.... She didn't tell me any single word about that.... Its only when my friends told me that my mom is sitting as the judge, I realised it is Amma... The other two Judges were Kala Aunty of 7th Std Anna, and Gandhimathi Aunty of 3rd Std Girl Hema.

Many of my friends danced well... Sanjana dressed & danced excellently well. Mrittika was really good & so as Siddarth & Vigasini. I don't know how amma marked them.... Really it is a difficult task.... I asked Amma about her marking.... She never revealed anything in particular... & said that ALL ARE EQUALLY EXCELLENT.... She told me the marking was very difficult in my Class & really very tough in Akash's Class... We all liked the way Adhi & Akash danced...

My opinion is Sanjuneetha in II Std., Adhi in III Std., Akash, Nishvitha & Divya in IV Std., Sanjana & Mrittika in our Class are really excellent.... Let the results come.... Hope most of my likings would get the prizes.

By 3 O'Clock, the competition was over. I asked amma to take me while leaving. Amma said that she & Appa would wait for me there at the school till closing. Also Sheela Miss came there & asked me to go to the class. I went to the class with little hesitation...;-).... as some of my friends would have gone for Handwriting Competition, which was followed by the Dance. I came out of the school by 4.30 p.m., & found both amma & appa were there in the waiting area.

After reaching home only, I remembered that I have French Class by 5.30 p.m., & Abacus Demo Practice Class any time between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. I planned to go to French Class by 6 p.m. after finishing this blog post & went down to ask Sasi Mam about the French Teacher, Sasi Mam told me that today I have Hindi Class also along with the French... I told her I would come to the French Class only, as I have Abacus Demo. She said that she would convey that to Hindi Sir.

Life is too busy these days.... after returning from school... by 5.30 p.m., I have 1 hour French Class by around 5.45 p.m.  Later Hindi Class.... Some times, if I have too much work, I used to bunk only the Hindi Class, as of today....

As of the Photos, Amma asked Suni Miss. Miss is too busy in these competitions &  from tomorrow she would be too busy as the competitions for Higher classes starts.... They have their competitions till 6th August Evening... After 6th only she could post the photos. So I could post the photos only after Suni Miss post those in the Rose Buddies Blog.

I asked amma to check this post thoroughly as spelling mistakes would be there and asked her to post this, as I am in a hurry to the French Class.

Sunil Anna would have taken the photos....  I would post the photos in my next post....

The Judges were  Kavitha Mam & Swati Akka's Mom, Sujatha Aunty....

I spoke nicely.... After coming back from the stage... Amma took me to the basketball court to change my dress.... I removed my hairdos & changed to dark blue pencil fit jeans  & white tops... looked really nice. Amma wiped all my make-ups... & gave a little touch-up.... for afternoon session...

Later she gave me my Lunch bag & started home...

We played in the football lawn before our lunch. Later we finished our lunch & went to the Assembly Ground for our Recitation Competition. Suni Miss called me & asked me to give flowers to the Judges. I accepted this offer & ofcourse its my pleasure inviting them.

Both Sunil Anna & Swati Akka took photos for the recitation competition.  I would post pictures too in my next post....

When the Judges came, I was surprised to see Sujatha Miss, (left her job two years back), after a long time as one of the judges and don't know the other judge. I gave them roses with all my smiles. After a while the competition started. It started with I Std. We, V Std, were the last. I was the fourth one to recite in my class.
I did very well....

After our recitation competition, we all sat in our classes.... we were asked to go to the play ground as by 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m., Countries & Capitals & from 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., States & Capitals Competitions are to be held. A Pleasant Surprise

Today is a great day. I just came back from the school. Both Appa & Amma came to the bus stop to pick me up.... It was indeed a pleasant surprise for me when amma told me that she came to the school to be one of the judges for the fancy dress competition.... for KGs.   I could not believe my ears….  Is she really a judge....?

Oh My God... She never let out any words with regards to this in the past days....  Wow... She loves all these stuffs... very much.... I know mom is very much interested in all these competitions from her school days & also she had participated in so many speech, both tamil & english, dance, fancy dress & mimicry competitions, from school level to district level & I have seen so many certificates of her.... very talented... She is University second rank holder in her B.Pharmacy & University Gold Medalist in her M.B.A. But never thought that one day she would be one of the judges in her favourites....

Oh Dear Mom... This is unfair on your part... that you should have told me this before.... I asked her... she with all her smiles told me.... there are two reasons for this kutty.... one is judging the kids performance is not that much an easy task as you think....you by any chance let out this to any of your friends & if it leaks out, then what will happen to the credibility of ours.... the other is to give you a pleasant surprise..... Now that I could understand her point of view.... Yes… in a way she is right…. Love You Mom....

Just now saw the updated rose buddies blog.... amma is sitting besides Kavitha Miss.... Inserted the Picture here.... let me post more pictures in my next post.... Thanks to Sunil Anna for taking the photos....

Also she told me that she enjoyed the event very much.... she loves dressing beautifully & gracefully.... she told that one after another the kids came in different dresses from fairy to ghost…. With beautiful makeup…. Nice to see all the kids so colourful…. Few kids simply stand on the stage doing nothing & went away…. Few didn’t utter a single word… Few kids spoke very well.... Few said  "I am so...& so.... Amma didn't teach me anything else". SO SWEET KIDS...............

On the whole she had a great time…. Enjoyed a lot.....

Amma told me that I have to improve my voice modulation in both the speech & recitation.... also she told me that she would give me three gifts if  I win in all the three competitions..... speech, recitation & fancy dress. With Sri Mother's Blessings I could make it..... and get all the three gifts...

The Finals for the Fancy Dress & Recitation is on 2nd Aug 2011 & the Speech is to be held on 3rd Aug 2011. The results for all these competitions will be announced on 12th Aug 2011.

Let me post the sweet KG kids photos in my next post.... until then good bye....

Have a great day....

My Recitation - Sri Aurobindo's Savitri.

Yesterday (19/07/2011) I was selected in the Preliminary Recitation Competition, conducted by our School. A week before, Suni miss came to our class & told us to select any one poem for the preliminary selection competition. I thought immediately of Sri Aurobindo's Savitri. I love this. I thank Sri Aurobindo & Sri Mother for giving me this wonderful opportunity to prove my talents in the school.

Prelims held on July 18, afternoon. I gave the printed poem, that was kept in a folder, to Flavia Miss, as both Nithya Miss & Flavia Miss, sat opposite to each other & in the middle, I have to recite. I did very well. Nithya Miss asked me why I have chosen, a long poem. I told her its because of the time management, as we have to recite a poem for 2 to 3 mins.

Book XI - The Book of Everlasting Day.
Canto I - The Eternal Day: The Soul's Choice and the Supreme Consummation
Page -  710

And see awake the dumb divinity.
Intuitive beams shall touch the nature's peaks,
 A revelation stir the nature's depths;
The Truth shall be the leader of their lives,
Truth shall dictate their thought and speech and act,
They shall feel themselves lifted nearer to the sky,
As if a little lower than the gods.
For knowledge shall pour down in radiant streams
And even darkened mind quiver with new life
And kindle and burn with the Ideal's fire
And turn to escape from mortal ignorance.
The frontiers of the Ignorance shall recede,
More and more souls shall enter into light,
Minds lit, inspired, the occult summoner hear
And lives blaze with a sudden inner flame
And hearts grow enamoured of divine delight
And human wills tune to the divine will,

These separate selves the Spirit's oneness feel,
These senses of heavenly sense grow capable,
The flesh and nerves of a strange ethereal joy
 And mortal bodies of immortality.
A divine force shall flow through tissue and cell
And take the charge of breath and speech and act
And all the thoughts shall be a glow of suns
And every feeling a celestial thrill.
Often a lustrous inner dawn shall come
 Lighting the chambers of the slumbering mind;
A sudden bliss shall run through every limb
And Nature with a mightier Presence fill.
Thus shall the earth open to divinity
And common natures feel the wide uplift,
Illumine common acts with the Spirit's ray
And meet the deity in common things.
Nature shall live to manifest secret God,
The Spirit shall take up the human play,
This earthly life become the life divine.
